I found this time capsule through a dear friend up north and just had to save it from the elements of time. This is a 1951 Ford F2, 3/4 Ton Pickup Truck

Everything is still as was from the factory right down to the original 239 cubic inch flathead engine and four speed manual transmission. The only thing worth noting is these trucks only had a single tail light and the wood in the bed has been replaced with treated lumber.

The plan right now is to go through the fuel, air and spark systems and try to bring the motor back to life. Beyond that the only thing we plan to do is get it to drive, steer and brake so we can enjoy it.

These were taken by my friend prior to purchase. We officially purchased this one on 8/11/17 via telephone and wire transfer.

August 20th, 2017, While up in Indiana visiting friends we prepared the truck for shipping. The biggest accomplishment was getting a new set of wheels, tires and lug nuts on her so she'd roll on and off the transport. I used vehicle specifications found online to estimate wheel well sizes and suspension obstructions to determine what wheel width and offset I could get away with. I went with a 16"x8” wheel wrapped in P265/70R16 tires—fingers crossed they’d fit! We were very fortunate, they fit like a glove and are the right look for an old truck like this.

August 21st, 2017, she's being loaded up and shipped to Florida where she'll be brought back to life.

August 23rd, 2017, she's finally home in Florida. After catching up the C3 Racecar & Galaxie projects I'll spend some time resurrecting the 239 cu.in. Flathead Engine and eventually move her indoors.
